appointed
mindfulness
The Appointed Mind Series blends brief mindfulness practices with somatic awareness techniques to calm the nervous system, increase focus, reduce stress. The name originates from the idea that we must appoint our mind with a job, or it will wreak havoc. And, we need to make appointments to be mindful via formal practice, so mindfulness becomes habit— less our busy lives pass us by. All levels of experience are welcome. Options and strategies will be provided for people who’ve struggled with mindfulness. Participants develop a personalized toolkit to anchor themselves in the present, foster resilience, and experience a practice that works in real life-- no matter how fast-paced it is. This class meets on Thursdays from 10 am - 11 am CST. Classes are offered on a sliding scale. Participants can come in-person, or they will be provided with a Zoom link to attend virtually. One unfortunate thing to note for accessibility is that Amber’s studio is located on the second floor, and there is no elevator in her old building.
